WHO WE ARE

We are Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (MSC) and we commit our entire life, energies, talents and time to bringing the reign of Christ's love, compassion, and reconciliation wherever we live and minister. We do this by serving the poor, vulnerable and those on the margins of society through works of healing, teaching, caring and giving - particularly addressing the needs and realities of women, mothers, children, frail elders and immigrants.

Once a Catholic school shaped by the presence and mission of Saint Francesca Cabrini and her religious sisters, these walls have long been a home to learning, faith and care. Though the classrooms lay empty for a season, the mission continued its work through renovation and hard work, lovingly carried forward by the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart and the faithful ministries of the lay communities who continue to nurture this space. Today, the halls echo again with children's laughter and eager footsteps. Artists create in once quiet rooms. Nurseries and learning centres welcome new generations. Outside, families gather to learn, play and explore nature. The community comes together in worship, gathering for Mass at the heart of this building. The poor and vulnerable are diligently tended to. This is more than a revival; it is a continuation of the values Saint Francesca Cabrini cherished deeply: dignity, love, education, and service.

Our Centre
provides multiple spaces for informal drop in activities, organised
classes and groups, one to one support sessions, larger community
gatherings, social events, cooking, food spaces and much more.
The centre will serve as a beautiful space where neighbours
will have opportunities to meet and share their faith, unique gifts, skills and
talents. We will be able to further support this by offering the community a
free space to harbour solutions for the challenges the community face
themselves.
The centre will not only serve the immediate community but its excellent
transport links and close proximity to the train networks alongside having a
carpark means that it will serve a much larger area.

The Catholic Mother's Apostolate based here, is evidence of the warmth and beauty spread from this centre, sharing its space with local families, communities from other parts of the map, fathers from around London and so on...

Today, that same spirit is alive here once more. The halls echo again with children's laughter, footsteps, and curiosity. Artists create in once-quiet rooms. Nurseries and learning centers welcome new generations. Community gathers for Mass, for celebration, for connection.

This is more than a revival — it’s a continuation. A living, breathing expression of the values Saint Francesca held dear: hope, education, love, and service. Her legacy doesn't live in memory alone — it lives in everything happening here, every day.

Santa Francesca Cabrini

Saint Francesca Cabrini, born in 1850 in Italy, was a visionary of compassion. As the first U.S. citizen to be named a saint, she spent her life building schools, hospitals, and orphanages for immigrant families and the vulnerable. She believed deeply in education and passing on our ancient Catholic Faith, especially for children, and in creating beautiful spaces that were worthy of the poor and needy, nurturing both mind and spirit. She founded schools, hospitals, and orphanages across two continents, fiercely protecting the dignity of the poor and the vulnerable. She was known for traveling thousands of miles, sometimes under harsh conditions, to reach those who needed her most. She once crossed the Atlantic 25 times, always ready to answer the call.

May we be as generous with our time, as open with our hearts, as giving with our efforts, and as graceful as Santa Francesca. May we carry forward the mission of the Sacred Heart Sisters of the Holy Spirit Region — through a place dignified in beauty, fitting for the poor, the needy, the vulnerable, and honouring life at every stage.
